I agree with so much of what you are saying here. With one exception. It's something that I noticed when I watched it, and then I made my bff watch it when it was replayed, as he'd never seen the show before (I know....he must have been living under a rock before he met me!!), and he thought the same thing. QT wants the viewers to believe that Nick and Warrick are together. I also have a few other issues with this episode, one of which being well, that, but also the complete lack of character time/development given to Greg. Don't even let me start on the lack of screen time that he's received since becoming a CSI. I refer to it as his requisite 4 seconds an episode.
Also, maybe I've been living under a rock recently but what does this mean??
...they seriously shaft Greg as a character to get back at Eric.
Really? I don't see that. I mean him and Warrick were friends from the beginning and this only made their bond stronger. If that happened to my best friend I'd probably have the same reaction he did. And the writers don't know how to handle Greg altogether, I mean they've been recycling Nick's storylines for seasons now and have nowhere else to go with anybody unless it's GSR or trying to make Nick straight.
i did a little edit at the bottom to explain myself :)
Fair enough. It just really felt to me that QT is a bit of a Warrick/Nick fan. But I can also see where you are coming from. (I'd actually forgotten about the Eric/George community, I'll have to go do some creeping.) There are moments tho, where I feel like someone on the writing staff wants us to see the Nick/Greg connection. (ie the ep. where Greg tells Warrick that he has a cold, and then a few scenes later Nick tells Warrick that he feels like he's getting a cold.) That episode on a whole had some really great N/G moments. I can't remember at the moment the name of that one, but I feel like it was early on in the season, and it gave me great hope for things to come. Then I watched the rest of the season and was let down. *Why must I let myself hope??*
I think they are together too but if TPTB wanted to get rid of him why sign him to a new contract. I mean they apparently killed off Warrick so why not ship Greg off if it is such a problem. I wish there was more Eric in CSI I think he is cute and I miss the season 1-3 Greg but really he is having the last laugh. He gets paid the same whether he has 4 seconds of screen time or the whole 44 minutes.
I said the other day how nice and happy George looked in the pics that someone just posted since his "breakup". lol We all know and do not care!! Why do they??
I don't think they can fire Eric without a legit reason, and I mean everyone would know the real reason. True, but he's such a good actor and they're just too stupid to use him to his full potential, plus using him more would make having Nick and Greg together more and ohh they couldn't have that. It all makes me sad really, that such crap like what some delusional small minded assholes think keeps them both in the closet.
Oh I know, the pictures from monte carlo? The last pictures of him at an event were the 300 premier i think and he was heavier and bearding and just...ick. But now he looks fantastic, actually happy for once.
I love the pictures - especially the ones where everything but Greg is black & white. I have a plot bunny floating around where Greg completely breaks down afterwards. I'm also writing a fic epic where I have Nicky coming out to his family post-Grave Danger so maybe Greg was being careful to not out Nicky to his parents. Who knows.
I just watched the ep recently and I was so mean to Warrick while watching - calling him names and telling him the world doesn't revolve around him.
And as for G/E and award shows, all I have to say is 2005 SAG awards.
hello, do the names neil patrick harris and t.r. knight mean anything to them?
I guess not. And look at Ellen - she took a lot of flack when she first came out, but she's doing just fine now and is possibly even more successful than before.
And as for G/E and award shows, all I have to say is 2005 SAG awards.ugh, seriously! George just couldn't contain himself. And it wasn't until recently that I realized not only did he have his arms around Eric but Eric had his hands up on his arms. Frickin Marg in the way! Plus the 2003 Emmy pictures, I've never seen George so comfortable beside someone else
( ... )
With the SAG awards, it seemed like Gary was looking at them like I can't believe they're doing that in front of all these people and Marg had turned around almost like to tell them to behave. For me though the best part is that the beard was in the audience.
For now, I'm just glad George is without the beard. We'll just have to wait and see what happens from there.
He actually waits around for Eric on the steps, then tries to make it seem nonchalant when Eric passes him then he runs for him. Marg does look surprised when she turns around, then she maneuvers herself in between them, but if you watch closely not soon enough to see George run his hand over Eric's shoulder, give his neck a little squeeze then slide off of his other shoulder.
I have to say I agree with the fact that they really did have Greg hold back a lot in the episode. It was very sad. Eric is really good with facial expressions though and I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that when Catherine got a close-up, you could see Greg behind her expressing what he really feels in his, well, expressions.
Eric really doesn't get enough screentime. Greg is such an amazing character and we've got so much to learn about him yet. Plus, Eric is just amazing, anyway and he's a terrific actor and he plays him really well.
And really, that's the only word I can find to describe the way Eric looks, he just like never ages and is pretty much permanently adorable. He'll be 70 and still beautiful.
