[Van won't be alone in the clinic today. Alexei was here, but not particular to be tended to. He was tending to his own personal things today when Van arrives.

He takes a moment to look him over. New feather no doubt, but he looked like he seem to know what he was doing. He didn't look seriously injured either soo...]

Are you looking for something?

Yes. [After some thought, he'd already decided it would be to his advantage to not hide his condition. Some people were so unwilling to think poorly of an ill man...] Do you work here?

No, but there is no one here at the moment if you need assistance. You'll have to wait or you can try the clinic down near the plaza.

Not immediate assistance. All I need is a particular medication. I thought it might turn up here. [He takes a brief glance around, looking for a likely storage cabinet, and then shrugs.] I'll wait if I must.

[Medication...? Well since he said he didn't need immediate attention, he's not going to pry...although a clinic might be better supplied than here.]

Were you injured in some way when you first arrived?

Before I arrived. Do you know where they're stored?

...There are some medicine over here. [He moves towards the back of the lobby area of the clinic, showing him the cabinets filled with a variety of different medications, painkillers and the like.]

[And he'll have to go through all of those, won't he? What a production. But if he waits too much longer, the pain will reach a level he can't simply ignore. Nothing for it, he'll just have to look. So he does, although with exceptional precision; everything he picks up goes exactly back where it came from.]

How long have you been here? If I may ask.

A little over eight months now. There are others who have been here for much longer though.

Is that... usual? [He needs a time-frame. How long term should his plans be? How long did he have to simply survive here? It's pathetic. He hates the Score more than anything, and yet he's almost lost for what to do without its looming deadline.] Is there a pattern to it?

Considering we don't have a known way of leaving, I would say so. Eventhough we've been here for a long time, I've heard that things remain unchanged back home when you do happen to return somehow. [He figured he'd add that, just in case he was wondering how things would be back home.]

And the only noticeable pattern, is when New Feathers like you show up here.

[There's a momentary hesitation in his sorting through pill bottles, and then one put back down just a bit harder than necessary.] Perhaps that's for the best. People tend to get complacent when things become predictable.

So does being trapped in one place. [Alexei starts to move away from the cabinets, he's getting ready to leave.]

He pockets the pill bottle and offers his hand out politely. This man is probably a contact he'll want to keep.]
