Flavorwire: 10 literary authors who illustrated their own work

Flavorwire has assembled a fun collection of artwork created by authors for their books.  The artists/writers featured include J. R. R. Tolkien, Kurt Vonnegut, William Blake, Evelyn Waugh, and Jack Kerouac.  It's a lot of fun to look around, but I can't shake the feeling that they missed somebody.  I want to say Neil Gaiman, but I can't remember of ( Read more... )

I had no idea that Lewis Carroll did illustrations for his own books! I knew Alice in Wonderland's most iconic art was done by John Tenniel, but thanks to the magic of the British Library's website I saw Carroll's art after Googling it:

Aubrey Beardsley is new to me too - as an author. I've only known him from illustrations he did for other mens' books!
