Awww~! It's so cute and little! <3

...if you can't decide on a name, you can always go with Turtle-chan. *lol*

It is so incredibly cute and little. And unlike my rats, he lets me pet him! T__T

That's pretty much what I've been calling him all week! But I've finally decided on a name: Yertle. I've always had a thing for Dr Seuss. XD

If I could offer a name suggestion... Kamekichi. From PGSM. Your turtle is so tiny and cute!! \^o^/

(Do your rats tend to throw their food/bedding around? I grow lucky bamboo, and when I stayed with my mom briefly after college the best sunlight was near her birdcage. The birds threw feed into the bamboo containers. Previously they were spotlessly clean, but I have not been able to get rid of the algae that grew after that bird incident. Just a warning to keep an eye on it in case Turtle-chan stays near your rats.)

Hehe, Kamekichi is a cute name! I thought of Kameko too ^^ But I've decided not to give him a Japanese sounding name because Mikan and Momo (my rats' name) already had that theme. Thank you though! :D

Wow, cheers for pointing that out! You're right, my rats do make an unholy mess, I notice that every time they finish eating, they collect and throw out sunflower seed shells, bits of dry food and their bedding (and sometimes poo too) out. Their cage is clean all right, but my desk is a mess. So I do realize the wisdom of keeping them slightly far apart so not of my rats' junk get into my turtle's bowl. *nodnod*
They're in opposite ends of the table now. :D

Oh yes, turtle's name is Yertle. XD

How about naming him after a favourite writer/author/poet? Not that turtles are known for being particularly literate XD

Nor are they any good at renaissance art either. XD

I still haven't picked a name, so far I've just been calling it Lil' Turtle (and I feel like I should be shot by imaginary people for my lack of imagination). I thought of 'Hercules' but it felt like a pretty heavy name to bear (pardon the terrible pun, I couldn't help myself XD;). Anyway, I'm stuck between these three: Rodya (as in Raskolnikov from Doestoevky's Crime and Punishment), Chomsky (I like the way it sounds hehe) and Shetyw, which is Egyptian for 'turtle'. Oh and a fourth, 'Yertle', because I enjoy the rhyme. :D

And oh yes! My turtle climbed onto the stone today! I was so, so pleased because every time I look into the bowl he's underwater! It didn't mind me ecstatically taking pictures of it relaxing on the stone thing and coming really, really close, though I swear it gave me a rather wry look at one point -- judgmental little thing XD
