Eeee tomorrow is my first day of work as a teacher. I am terrified and excited! Mum has already ironed my work clothes... she said this service is only for the first day though XD
Oh yes! I have a wee pet turtle!
cestlavieminako, look!
Ariana drove me to the aquatic pet shop and she bought the turtle for me (I got to pick!) as a going-away present since that day was my last day of work at UBD with her. This picture's from yesterday when I was still in the car. Now it's living in a French crystal bowl that I brought back with me from Australia which was a gift from my ex-flatmate Finland (her real name's Johanna ^^). Aaaaanyway, I've put in the middle of the bowl a large riverbed stone that I found under my plush animals (no idea where it came from or how it got there, but now it has a purpose hurrah!) where it could hang out when it's tired of swimming or chilling underwater. The water level just skims the top of the rock, so it could swim upwards and crawl onto the stone. It seems I need to get a light soonish for its basking area, since sunlight doesn't enter my room much.
In case what I've been saying does not make much sense (I used to much 'it' and I got confused myself), here is a visual aid:
I haven't decided on a name yet. I don't even know if it's a boy or a girl, but I don't think it really matters -- the critter isn't exactly going to object, yes? I did find out from the internets that it's most likely a
hybrid turtle (red-eared slider and the yellowbelly slider). If so, then it is an American species! I might be wrong though.
The rats were restless when I placed the bowl next to their cage. Wonderfully curious, though I think they were just hungry, heh.
