Had my first ever knitting class tonight and it was way harder than I thought. I guess I assumed that Baba's knitting gene would just be in there somewhere and would activate as soon as the needles were in my hands

You know what though? Knitting is really only four things anyway (casting on, knitting, purling, and casting off)!

Yeah, but I didn't say I learned how to do them well. I feel like I've redone my sample piece 100 times now.
