I am going there in June. I can't wait. I'm curious about the Smyril journey - I've been trying to find prices online and it looks like the cheapest option is 150 Euro roundtrip in the off-season, but summer quotes aren't given. The journey is about a day and a half each way from Iceland, am I correct?
Thanks! Lovely to see that they draw people in (the pictures that is... :D) Myeah... the Smyril journey. That's a tough one... About the length of the journey: it all depends when you are giong and where you will be leaving from. If you are going from Denmark you spend one night going from there to Norway, then you reach the Shetlands on that same day, and the Faroe islands early the next morning. Depending then when you left (summer/winter) you'll either be stuck in the Faroes islands for 2 nights and three days, or then just for the day. After yet another night, you'll finally set foot onto Iceland either in the morning or late in the afternoon. It's an interesting journey. I loved it :) If you are into reading, I've written all about it in my blog (starting here or here)... but beware, my posts are long and not always full of sanity :P
