She has a pouch full of medals and materia from Eiji and Yuffie that she has to figure out how to reverse engineer, and basket full of materials to make a sign for Shoutarou. She's got papers secured under small rocks all around her with half-drawn maps and partially written recipes

[Marie jumps, having been so absorbed in trying to figure out what the hell to do that she didn't even notice him walk up.]
