For anyone who was present on Deck Twenty roughly one hour ago and witnessed the rather spectacular crash of one Commander Erol Kadir, I would like to assure you that he has been tended to and should be on his feet again soon enough.

[His voice has an edge of tiredness to it, as though he's worn himself out and is pretending otherwise. And ( Read more... )

[Light, tired chuckle.]

Well, I suppose that is one thing that did not change between us.

[Razer loves the sound of his own voice, you know.]

Makes me curious t'see what else is different. You a najib in that gang you belong to as well?

[Kage pauses.]

Uh, a najib is like... fahk, what's th'word in this language. Capitan. Officer.

...Something like that.

[He isn't going into any more detail than that, Kage, he has a cover to keep up.]

You saved a comrade. No shame in that.

You see, therein lies the problem--Erol is not a comrade. He is not even a friend.

[This is completely true. There are words for his relationship with Erol, and neither of those are even close.]

And he is the enemy of one who is closer to a friend. So this is...rather hypocritical of me.

Hmn.

Then I retract what I have said... I do not understand your reasoning. If you have an enemy... you are better served by allowing them to fall. Are you not?

I suppose so. He is not my enemy, to be fair, but he is the enemy of a friend.

It just...did not seem fair. We were in the same business, Erol and I, and I have not even had the opportunity to race him yet. It was foolish to save him. Naive, perhaps. But, again, it did not seem fair.

I am simply hoping that no one decides I need to be struck for it.

The outcome doesn't surprise me. Not that the consequence will change anything for the future.

[Erol will just go back to racing after his recovery.]

You are better acquainted with him than I--does he make a habit of this sort of thing?

He's not the most cautious guy, if that's what you're asking.

[Frustrated sigh.]

Wonderful. I haven't even had a chance to finish a race with him yet.

Do you always talk this much?

I believe so, yes.

[He doesn't seem to feel that there's anything wrong with this at all.]

I am available if further medical assistance is required.

[Let me poke him OH PLEASE]

...I am fairly certain I managed to set and splint the breaks fairly well myself, but if you were interested in coming to, ah, check my work, as it were, I would not refuse.

[Unlike his counterpart, Razer has pretty much no problems with droids. A couple years racing with UR-86 will do that.]

[If an electronic beep could sound happy, this is what it would sound like.]

I will arrive shortly.
