At the Montreal Python user group meetings we have 5 flash presentations with no questions allowed then we take a 20 minutes break with refreshments (read beer) and snacks during which the audience is free to meet with the presenters. After the break, we have a longer 45-60 minutes presentation.
We prefer this formula since it generates more interesting discussions than quick 1 minute questions. The fact that we won't allow questions also forces the audience to go and meet the presenters during the break. This is our best formula so far and I encourage you to try it.
