My Little Kazunari

Falling in love was something that Ohno Satoshi didn’t expect he would feel. But, after meeting someone, he was undeniably in love with that person.
However, it was a forbidden love. The person he fell in love with was from another realm. And, he was a human. To make things worse, the person was just a little boy. He was probably around five or six years old, according to human age. But, Ohno didn’t think the boy would like him. He was a monster after all. If they met, the boy would be scared of him.
Ohno had never seen anyone as beautiful as the boy. He was so small for his age. He had a pair of beautiful eyes, which were always intense whenever he looked at something. A mischievous smile could always be seen on his face, making him look adorable. But, the thing that Ohno loved the most about the little boy…
His hands!
They were so cute. His fingers were so stubby and short.
The boy’s name was Ninomiya Kazunari. However, Ohno always called him Little Kazunari. He knew him when his best friend, Sakurai Sho the vampire, was assigned to scare the little boy. The monster from his realm depended on little kids’ scream from the human world to generate energy. The energy was used to power the monster realm. So, every night, selected monsters would go to the human world through the closet door and scare the children to make them scream.
After years of stalking Little Kazunari, Ohno miraculously had the chance to meet the little boy. However, the circumstances didn’t allow them to spend time together properly. Little Kazunari had stumbled into their world accidentally when he followed Sho from the closet. The technician for Sho’s door, Aiba Masaki the Frankenstein, was supposed to lock the door after Sho had finished scaring the boy. However, perhaps because he was too excited to go on a date with Matsumoto Jun the werewolf that night, he didn’t complete his job. Forgetting to lock the door wasn’t his only mistake. Aiba also forgot to send the door back to its place. It was known that Aiba had a crush on Jun so when he had the chance to go out with him, he neglected his duty.
Fortunately, it was Sho who found Little Kazunari. If it was another monster, the boy would be killed on the spot. Not knowing what to do when he discovered the boy, Sho immediately went to Ohno with Little Kazunari. According to Sho, Little Kazunari suddenly appeared in his house with a smile and asked to play hide and seek together. Sho thought that the boy was sleeping before he left his room. But, apparently, Little Kazunari wasn’t sleeping and he had followed Sho into the monster realm.
It’s obvious what they had to do, though. They had to send the boy back to his house before anyone noticed. However, it was too late.
At the time, Jun, who was also Ohno’s roommate, had returned from his dinner with Aiba and noticed Little Kazunari. He wanted to bring Kazunari to the king as Kazunari was a threat to them. But, Ohno refused to let him do so. He tried to reason with Jun, saying that Kazunari was still a small boy who didn’t know anything. However, Jun was too stubborn. He didn’t want to comply with his request to let Kazunari go.
As a result, they ended up fighting. Ohno attacked Jun’s weak spot, giving him and Sho time to run away with Kazunari. They decided to get back to the factory where Nino’s door was located. It took some time to find the door because Little Kazunari kept disappearing. The little boy thought that it was the perfect time for them to play hide and seek. So, he distracted them by hiding.
Fortunately, after a few rounds of involuntary hide and seek with Kazunari, they managed to bring back Kazunari to his house. That could only happen because Little Kazunari was too tired of running around the factory and fell asleep on Ohno’s lap. Even though it was weird that Jun didn't catch up with them, Ohno didn't let it bother him. What’s important, Kazunari was safe and sound in his house.
“Kaibutsu Kun, where are you going?” asked little Kazunari after Ohno put him on his bed. He was about to go back to Kaibutsu land. Sho, who was at the closet, asked him to talk with little Kazunari as this may have been the only chance for them to talk.
“I have to go back. Little Kazunari needs to promise me that he will not be a naughty boy,”
“But, you will come again, right?” asked Kazunari. Ohno wanted to shake his head. But, he changed his mind when he saw the boy’s teary eyes. He leaned forward and kissed the boy’s forehead.
“I promise that I will come back,” Ohno said with determination. No matter what, he would come back to see his little boy again.  “Little Kazunari has to promise me that he will wait for me to return,” said Ohno. Kazunari smiled at him and held out his pinky finger to make a promise with Ohno. Ohno complied with the wish. He asked the boy to sleep. Before he left the room, he took out a drawing of Kazunari that he made a long time ago and put it on the desk as a gift.
“Sho chan, let’s go home,” said Ohno as he went out from the door. But, there was no response from Sho and this made Ohno feel anxious.
“Satoshi…” A familiar voice greeted Ohno. He lifted his face to see his father stand a few metres from him. Sho was already captured by the king’s guard. Jun stood next to his father with a smirk. Sighing, Ohno dreaded what was going to happen.
“Jun said that you and Sakurai have committed a crime. You have let a human escape Kaibutsu land. As the king, I shall punish you,”
“But, papa, he is just a little boy,” said Ohno, trying to defend himself.
“A little boy or not, he is still a human. We need to kill him so that he will not tell anyone about our world,”
“But…”
“There is no but. A rule is a rule. Now, let Jun passed the door to kill the boy,”
“Your majesty, he is just a little kid,” Sho suddenly said. “No one will believe him if he ever talked about our world. They will think it is his imagination. Furthermore, the boy will forget about it soon,”
It was a sound argument. But, Ohno didn’t think his father would listen to it. He was stubborn. Once he had decided something, there was no way he would reconsider his decision. That’s why Ohno was surprised to hear what his father said.
“You are right. He will forget about this. But, I want to make sure he will never tell this to anyone. I want someone to go to the human world to ensure he will forget this. Aiba Masaki, as it is your fault all of this happened, it is your task to ensure he forgets. Do whatever it takes to make him forget. Jun, as Aiba is a clumsy person, you should go with him to make sure he does his job properly. Sakurai, you can no longer scare little kids until Kazunari forgets about this. And you, Satoshi, you are not permitted to leave the castle until the boy forgets. I will wait until he is 17 years old. If the boy doesn’t forget about this, I give permission to Aiba and Jun to kill the boy,”
“But,…”
“There is no but. I have been very lenient this time. If it happens again, don’t hope for me to be as merciful as this,” said the king. Ohno just sighed. He promised Little Kazunari that he will come back but there is no way he will be able to fulfil his promise now.
Ten years had passed. However, Little Kazunari never forgets his trip to Kaibutsu land. Aiba and Jun had tried everything to make him forget but everything was futile. Little Kazunari remembered everything about that night as if it happened yesterday. Every day, he waited for his Kaibutsu Kun to come back.
This worried Aiba and Jun. Soon, it would be time for them to kill Little Kazunari if he still refused to believe that everything was just a dream. However, they had been friends for ten years. Of course, it would be hard for them to kill their own friend. Even if they refused to kill little Kazunari, the king would send another monster to kill the boy.
Aiba and Jun had no other choice. Using Kazunari’s mother as their last resort, they fabricated a story about how Kazunari was obsessed with his imaginary friend named Ohno Satoshi. If only the stupid prince didn’t leave his stupid drawing for Kazunari, maybe it would be easier to convince their friend it was just a dream. They urged Mrs Ninomiya to make a story about Ohno Satoshi. It hurts them to lie to their best friend. However, there was no other choice. They had to do this to keep Kazunari alive.
The strategy worked. As a result of what his mother had told him, Little Kazunari tore the drawing from Kaibutsu Kun. Jun and Aiba were happy to know it! Finally! They didn't have to worry about Kazunari anymore. And, most importantly, they could finally return to Kaibutsu Land.
However, upon returning home, Aiba and Jun realized they had made a grave mistake. If only the deal between the king and the prince was made a few days earlier, things might not turn out this way. Even though it wasn't their intention, Aiba and Jun had destroyed a chance for Kazunari to be happy with Ohno. Thanks to their interference, the king had won the deal, leaving the prince in misery. And, because of this, it caused trouble in Kaibutsu land. If this continued, it may destroy Kaibutsu land and the human world would also be affected.
A/N: I know the ending is weird but I just want to write a sequel for this. I have a vague idea on how to continue but let me know if it is too weird to continue this story, or I should just let the story ended with the ending from watashi no kaibutsu kun. As always, comments are appreciated.
