exhibit AIn the pack, Xander says that Buffy likes her men dangerous. but on what evidence is this assessment based? at this point in the story, they don't know that Angel is a vampire, so is he dangerous because he wears a leather jacket (probably not)? But the only other explanation is that Angel seems dangerous because he warns her about ( Read more... )

I don't write fanfic. I will say that you shouldn't look for BTVS or ATS for continuity. It's not there. I'm tired of the old explanation, the writers didn't realize that the fans would record, download, wildfeed each episode after analyzing the sides and working scripts for weeks. They had to realize the fans were doing that fairly early.

I still love both series and forgive all plotholes.

Well, Angel was supposed to die originally. So was Spike for that matter. They kept the characters around because of fan love. So any continuity error wrt their characters are more than likely due to the fact that the writers had to change their arcs mid-arc.

How does she find out?

Darla sees Angel lurking around the Slayer - and outs him deliberately.

I invited him into my home, even after I knew who he was, what he was, and I didn't do anything about it.

You need to change the punctuation.

I invited him into my home. Even after I knew who he was, what he was, and I didn't do anything about it 'cause I had feelings for him, because I cared about him.

This is how it is written in the script:

I invited him into my home. And even after I knew who he was -- what he was -- I didn't do anything about it. Because I had feelings, because I cared about him.

Thanks for pointing out a few things I hadn't considered before. Xander saying that Buffy likes her men dangerous, for one. Is it because Angel is an older man, a man of experience, a man who wears leather? A mysterious stranger that brings warnings to Buffy? Maybe this is what Xander was talking about? Maybe Xander wants to be in Angel's shoes?

Well, even Mysterious Message Guy Wearing A Black Jacket would qualify as way more dangerous than Xander...
