Also from back in 2005, for summer_of_spike , this is a historical Spike(/Dru) fic that's slightly angsty. Just over 6000 words, rated PG-13, and needs warnings for semi-gory death.

Lovely. And Spike is so sympathy-inducing, even as he runs around being evil!spike and bashing heads together for fun.

Thank you! And I'm glad he was sympathetic - to me he's evil and selfish and nasty, but he does have a heart, which is why he was always my favourite baddy. :D
