David Mark Silberstein, 1957 -- 2021

My oldest son, David, died this afternoon in Reading Hospital. He turned 64 in January, 2021, and has been in and out of the hospital (mostly in) since June of this year. Fansee, my heart goes out to you - I'm so sorry for your loss! This must feel like it goes against the natural order of things - your children are supposed to outlive you. But I know that David has not been doing well, so I'm sure it was not entirely unexpected, and I hope that he is in a better place now.

I have found that when you know that someone will never get better and the best case is that s/he doesn't deteriorate further, you start your mourning while they are still holding on. David's death was not a surprise nor a shock, , so my mourning started at least two weeks ago. I do feel sad...he was not ready to go...but I have plenty of support, including that here on LJ.
