Awwwwwwwwwww!!!

This was lovely, detailed and rather lyrical. I like the ways you found for Cas to be witness and guardian for Sam over and over. The last scene especially is very sweet and awesome.

By the end of the fic, Sam and Cas are Team Free Hugs. That fills me with warm fuzzies, as does the apology for being a jerk to Cas.

But as for the actual story, I really liked it - I liked Sam's first time in Heaven, with Bones and the pizza and not really understanding that he's dead until he's being pulled back. I loved the scene where Sam comforts Cas after The Song Remains the Same - I've always loved seeing Cas' fall in relation to that episode explored, and it was really nice to see him get a little TLC. Their conversation felt fluid while still being in character, which I think is quite a feat for Sam and Cas.

Thanks so much for your lovely comment -- I'm so glad you enjoyed it! The dog and pizza scene was very fun to write, and it was cool to posit that Castiel might've met Sam all the way back in s2 before he ever set foot on earth. We have ratherastory to thank for Sam taking care of Cas post 5.13, since it was her prompt! :)
