Cat versus UnCat

Inspired by this thread within the previous post, I started to realise just how little of Cat there is in UnCat in one very important way.

Cat was all about trying to stop the war - suggesting late in AGOT that the northmen sue for peace, trying to get Renly and Stannis to come to terms, etc.  She'd lost a lot to the war and the Lannisters, ( Read more... )

Yeah, Beric himself gave Cat back her life, even though it was his last light. He sacrificed his final spark of soul or whatever to bring her back, despite her body's three-day decay and slit throat. Thoros tried to talk him out of it, because it was a Really Bad Idea (tm), but failed.

I think the way resurrection works in Westeros is that the sooner you bring someone back to life, the more of his/her former self is retained. Beric mentions that he can barely remember his former life anymore after six/seven resurrections. In Cat's case, it was a few days before the Brotherhood found her and Beric brought her back; presumably, her soul or life or whatever had farther to travel than if she had been brought back immediately after her death, so it might have been corrupted upon reentering her body.

If anyone has seen The Crow, or read the comic or novels, the person resurrected only has a short amount of time to exact their revenge before dying again. I assume this might be the same deal with Undead Cat.Haven't read/seen The Crow ( ... )
