I HATE TWILIGHT WITH A BURNING FIERY PASSION. I actually got to part-way through the third book before the romanticisation of stalking made me SO ANGRY I actually threw the book at a a wall (I do not usually treat books like this.)

I. Have nothing on punctuation. I am SURE that my own is eccentric, even if I do have two very anal betas go over it (one who hates comma splices with a passion, even!).

Comma splices... I am guilty of them. I can usually catch them when I reread what I've written, but when I'm doing the actual writing, the commas just pop up where my brain has a mental pause. (Also, grammar and I have an odd relationship. I can almost always spot the incorrect grammar and fix it... but I can't ever explain -why- it's wrong, other than, "Because it is." O.o)

Oh Twilight. There are no proper words to explain how much I truly, absolutely, and completely loathe the series. But I have a fun anecdote that illustrates how bad it all is!

That's so funny 'cause the same incident happened to me when I was scrolling around fictionpress.com to read a fic but refused to start reading 'cause the girl said she loved Twilight in her profile. -_- I feel bad for discriminating 'cause I'm sure her fic has no relation to Twilight at all!

Mmm~ Semicolons. It's just so hard to use and I don't get why all of a sudden they've taken the place of the comma. It's like the 'new' comma! And even then a lot of people don't know how to use commas in the first place! (Including me but I try to make a very grave effort not to bomb my writing with commas)

By the way, I'd love to read some of your writing sometime~ :)

I find that a lot of people tend to write in similar styles to their favorite authors. Therefore, I have no remorse for skipping over people who enjoy Twilight. I don't need to read anything ELSE written like that crap

Oh semicolons. I think people may think that they're "grown-up" punctuation and abuse them in a, "Look at me! I'm writing adult!y things! Here's a semicolon that proves it!" No. Please don't hurt my beloved semicolons

I'd love to share some of my writing! However, my style is undergoing a change, I think. Which means I'm not fond of either my older stuff OR my recent things >XP I might participate in NaNoWriMo, though, and if I do, I'll make sure to post links around my LJ for anybody interested

Twilight = fail.

I tried to read it. Couldn't get past page two. And let me tell you, I'm always a fan of YA books...

Also, I've noticed that authors with twilight-related pennames have a 95% tendency NOT to review works they've read. They just like to feast then favourite...

Lmao! I am guilty of semicolon misuse; like I did just now.

Even now, Semicolons around the world are amassing in the fight against incompetent authors who can't make up their minds whether to comma or to just full stop.

Damn you, semicolons! Of what use are you, anyway?!

I absolutely adore YA books. There are elements in YA that it's really, really difficult to find in adult fiction. And it just happens that fantasy in the "adult fiction" section isn't taken very seriously... whereas it is in YA. I'm NOT embarrassed to admit that Tamora Pierce, Meg Cabot, and Holly Black are my comfort authors who I will adore for years.

That said... with the whole vampire!!!!fiasco bursting out, I'm -embarrassed- for YA. It's no longer about being a strong, independent young woman-- who happens to get the guy. Now, it's all about being this irresistible, attractive, speshul girl who gets herself into trouble and the guy who pulls her OUT of the mess ends up falling for her ways. And I'm like, "NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. This is NOT the message I want to read about, Gemma Doyle, Stephenie Meyers, and Cassandra Clare! I want a STRONG FEMALE CHARACTER I can feel proud to relate with ( ... )
