His Cardio Funk class over for the day, John decided to open the front doors to the gym and let in some fresh air.

Days like this had him missing Atlantis. All that alien ocean air and trips to verdant worlds. But hey, Atlantis didn't have stuff like chili dogs for lunch. And damn if John wasn't gonna stuff his face with one of those later.

As luck would have it, the bar was a pleasant and child-free zone tonight. John had heard what the dance had wrought on the island which made a shift at the bar sound like the best idea ever. Free booze on Chuck Bass was a win-win.

In John's opinion, the temperature drop was just another incentive for people to stop in while he was working the lame Saturday shift at the gym. Awards season had begun and Tino was was manning the bar while John sat by the television with a beer and wondered why the football had ended.

Weird how that worked.

Spinning was fun. Uh, not the bike kind, though John was certain that happened at some point on the trainers schedule. No, he was spinning at the front desk on a chair, testing out his balance and how his ears reacted.

Apparently this is what his life had come to.

John was starting to think stacking glasses really high should be a sport. Especially when the glasses belonged to Chuck, who could afford to pay for the subsequent losses when the glasses tipped over and crashed on the floor.

Eh, Tino would clean it up.

John had skipped the picnic thing, not being new or a teacher it felt kinda strange. What wasn't strange was drinking in the bar and watching the zombie band argue with Tino about taping them up properly. Sure it sounded like a lot of groaning, but John wasn't getting involved.

When he arrived to behind the bar and drink Chuck's booze, John was surprised to find Tino wearing thick, padded gloves, short shorts, and a wife beater tank.

Nope, not worth correcting. John would just spend his evening averting his eyes.

Those shorts were really tight.

John knew what went great with applesauce and fried potato pancakes - beer. Most of his evening would involve opening doors and snagging a fresh plate to go along with the rain and his favorite cheap brew.
