Saturday Night, the Park

Jul 15, 2006 20:46

Truth be told, Ellie hadn't even noticed that no one was talking. She'd been stargazing the night before on the roof. There were thunderstorms in the area, but it was funny how the skies over Fandom were always conveniently clearer. She'd slept late and spent the day reading a few astronomy journals in her apartment. When night fell, she headed to the park to do a little more observing. The Andromeda Galaxy was rising earlier and earlier every night, and it was a favorite target of hers.

Picking up her telescope, she headed down the stairs of the silent apartment building on on to the streets of Fandom. She did notice it seemed unusually quiet; there were no students around like there usually were on a Saturday night. Maybe there was some big event at the camp or something.

Once she reached the park, she set up her telescope and pointed it east, then became lost in watching the skies.
