Jono was actually in a good mood today. Yes, even Jono was aware of how weird that was. But he wasn't going to let a little thing like a good mood get in the way of listening to angry music. It just meant that it was entirely possible that he was going to end up pulling a guitar down off the wall and playing along, today. The Clash was playing

Tseng giving them businesses--not that she had quite decided what she was doing with hers just yet--meant that Ino had been thinking about other things they were going to need on the island.

Which had led her to the one person she really knew well enough to call and ask about stuff like that.

(Sparkle might've helped but then she'd have to explain how she'd gotten his phone number...)

So, there was Jono's phone ringing!

Besides, it gave Ino something to do as she watched the ground beneath her roll on by. Reno was flying the helicopter. Ino had time to talk.

And Jono, good mood that he was in, even answered that phone of his on the second ring.

Of course Ino had her own ringtone. He'd composed it himself on some freebie midi software he'd grabbed in the app store. She'd probably recognize it if she were to hear it in person; it was a song about sunflowers.

Ino's words paused as she realized, abruptly, that she hadn't told him Zack was alive.

"It's a long story," she settled on. "Hey, you busy?"

//Not unless you count trying not to trip on Joni as she goes for my boot-laces busy,// Jono replied, his tone sobering slightly as he hiked himself up to sit on the counter. //Is something th'matter...?//

Hannibal was here again this week, and again he'd brought berries and coffee. If only to prove they weren't only for when he was worried or feeling manipulative.

He was also in rather a good mood, which meant he was feeling mischievous.

He chuckled at Joni. "Should I have brought Beethoven, to give your laces a reprieve?"

//I think he'd never forgive you.// A beat. //That, or he'd end up eating one of the blue people, and I'd have an Incident on my hands.//

Cats and Smurfs. It was a thing.

"Are they hiding today?" Hannibal had yet to see the things. He poured Jono a cup of coffee and himself another.

//They're probably worried about what'll happen if Joni gets tired of shoelaces,// Jono replied, //But then, some days they're just quieter in general, anyway.//

He gave the berries an amused look, and then reached for the coffee. Just to hold it. Just to feel the warmth in his hands.
