Fandom High 20 Year Reunion Brunch, The Park, Sunday Morning

May 29, 2016 04:15

Hopefully, everyone still had a little socialization in them yesterday after the mixer. There was still plenty of Tamsin's booze reserves to be shared, which would go nicely with all of the breakfast foods being served.

Each of the tables had a pot of coffee as well, just in case that was needed. There was no glitter in the coffee, promise.

Ah, morning. It was nice outside, at least?

Hannibal was here, enjoying the company and the weather, though he did have on sunglasses. He also had a bag with him of proper caffeine drinks for friends, because some things never changed.

Peridot hadn't changed in the least. At all, really. She was still the same Peridot that she had been the day before and the day before that, with no convenient timeskip to show for it. Not that there would really be much different about her anyway, to those who knew her twenty years down the road.

Well, maybe she was taller right now than they'd be used to by then. She wasn't really even here for the brunch. She'd just been out walking, and had sort of stumbled across the get-together. Now she was looking at everything the tiniest bit skeptically. Another human eating thing.

It's five o'clock somewhere blah blah--look, mimosas and bloody marys are an important part of brunch, okay?

It had been some time since the Seekers' makeshift headquarters had managed a feast quite like this, and while Cassandra was not necessarily starving-- she let herself indulge in this small luxury this once, assembling a mighty fortress of bread and waffles.

There was a chance there were people around here who thought Ezra was dead. Because in their time, well. He was. (And he wouldn't have been surprised, either.)

But here he was. Piling a small mountain of food onto his plate because hey, a guy had to eat.

"Ezra?" For the first time this weekend, Kathy understood what it was like to be on the other side of this conversation. Her Ezra--not that he'd ever been 'hers'--had died. Years ago. It had hurt, but hadn't entirely been unexpected. She was giving him a soft smile and reaching out to greet him. "Hey there, handsome. It's good to see you."

So the first thing Dante was grabbing today was technically a Virgin Mary, but whatever. He snagged a whole plate full of food and sat down, stretching his feet out under the table until his ankles hit the bench on the other side.

Not bad.

Sarah had not noticed anything off this weekend. That was what happened when you didn't leave your apartment for a whole day.

But she'd heard there was free food again. So she was here with a big plate of breakfast food, and a coffee, hogging a table all to herself. Socialize at your own risk.

Rufus had a plate of food, a sleepy puppy in his lap, and time on his hands to people watch.

He alternated that with reading.

It didn't bother him that whatever it was that had made others older this weekend hadn't touched him. He could think of several reasons why that might be.

Hey, now. Kanan wouldn't call what he was doing lurking. He was just... sitting off to the side with a large cup of coffee, being semi-antisocial. It was lurking if you cut an imposing figure, somehow.

Mostly.

As the Jedi with the blindfold who appeared to be far more interested in the contents of his cup than in most of what was going on around him, he was absolutely calling 'not lurking,' that morning. He was just staying out of the way. Big difference.

Hannibal saw Kanan and came over, adjusting his naturally silent stride to rustle the grass a bit. As always, he had his bag with him, with two thermoses in it, one of which he pulled out now.

"May I interest you in some proper caf?"

Kanan's mouth twitched faintly. Something almost a smile. He would have known Hannibal coming from across the island. It was hard not to notice the weird knot of confusing Dark that twisted around him.

Still and all, he'd been good for a lot of people here. That twitch ended in a smile.

"You know I'm always interested in proper caf," he shared. "Especially around here."
