The Park, All Day Saturday

Aug 09, 2014 01:40

On Saturday morning, the smell of cotton candy permeated the island once again as the booths at Cooger & Dark's Pandemonium Shadow Show began to turn on and light up. There were more attractions to see today than there had been yesterday, and wasn't that just wonderful ( Read more... )

Unless you'd been in there the day before -- or unless you knew Bo -- you wouldn't realize there was one more hoochie-coochie girl in the Temple of Temptation, but there was.

The veil and the coins were the same as all the other dancers. The glowing blue eyes, the compulsion to get close enough to touch, and the ability to control your mind if you made the mistake of doing so? That was new.

This was Tamsin's last stop-off of the day, and she was about in a mood that she wanted to stab something. Badly. Just preferably not something that'd get her fired.

"Seriously," she said flatly. "You walked right into this?"

Worst Fae ever, Bo.

Yes, the Fae who spent her life trying to resist the level of sexual energy that normal people gave off got suckered in by magically-enhanced erotic dancers doing it on purpose. Dishonor on Bo, dishonor on her family which really didn't need any more of that, thanks, Bo, dishonor on her cow.

"Walking is for tourists. I'd rather dance." Bo's eye-color pulsed in time with the music, from blue to brown to blue, as she shifted her hips toward Tamsin. "Wouldn't you?"

Was the narrative insisting Tamsin give anyone a fair shake? Dishonor on her entire herd of cows.

"I'd rather know the time and circumstances of you joining this freak show," she said dryly.

Though okay, she checked out the hips. Who could blame her? It was practically the only part of today that didn't suck.

"The freak show's three tents down." Bo pointed. Helpfully. With one of those hips.

"Time," Tamsin repeated helpfully.

"Time?" Bo repeated. So, so helpfully. "A minute. Forever. Time doesn't matter here." She'd be happy to show Tamsin what did matter, not that it was all that hard to guess.

Were any of these people going to give her a straight answer? "Then you're wasting mine," she said irritably. "Okay, Mata Hari, you're coming with me."

Tamsin, you were so, so lucky Bo wasn't Bo enough to make the horrible joke you just invited.

"Mmmhm, I don't think so. Why don't you stay with me?" she said instead, reaching out both hands in invitation.

Yes. Let's let the succubus touch you. That would be a great idea.

Tamsin shot her a look that was downright insulted and took a step back. "Keep your hands where I can see them," she said. She reached for the cuffs at her side.

"Like this?" Like up in the air as she backed out of grabbing range, but twirled and slinked in a circle around Tamsin.
