It was strange, really, that he hadn't visited the bookshop until now. Perhaps Ichabod had unconsciously feared that he would spend far too much money if he let himself roam free among the bookshelves.
Today, however, he had noticed the sign in the window, so he entered, glancing around the interior before offering a small nod in greeting to the lady behind the counter.

"Hello," Rosalind said politely, having looked up at the sound of the bell. (She liked the bell since it made it harder for people to sneak into the store.) She gave him a rather cool, but professional, smile.
"Is there anything I can help you with, or will you prefer to browse on your own?"

"How do you do, madam," Ichabod replied. "I couldn't help noticing the sign in the window." He made a gesture towards said window. "And I would like to enquire about the position."
