It was a Fandom tradition that went back... well, at the very least several years: graduation brunch, offering visitors and locals alike the best food available on the island.
There was a banner that stretched from tree to tree declaring CONGRATULATIONS, CLASS OF 2013 in big glittery letters. There were tables full of moddable food and drink.

She watched Ron grill silently until it looked like he had finished a round of meat, then approached and extended her Tupperware out to him to put food into without saying a word.

The way he said it, it sounded more like a statement than anything that required an answer.
He eyed her Tupperware. "You've come here to get some meat."

"Yep," she confirmed.

He took the container with gravity.
"Please take good care of this meat."

"Thanks," she said. And, "I wasn't gonna, like, throw it in the ocean or anything."

April accepted the container. "And fish don't get barbecue," she summarized. Because fish were a vegetable. Why would you feed a vegetable delicious pork meat? "Got it. It's going in my fridge."

This was the best kind of social interaction. Short. And full of meat.

Instead he had a plate on which he was loading vegetables and meat in equal measure, squinting a little. He'd been spending a lot of time indoors and the sunlight was kind of messing with his head.
