Homecoming Brunch, The Park, Sunday Morning

Oct 20, 2012 23:48

Worried that all the glitter on the island had been used up at the dance or at yesterday's festivities? Worry no more! Because today's brunch possibly featured more glitter than the previous two days combined, though someone very intelligent had made it so that most of the glitter was located on signs and posters conveniently located out of most ( Read more... )

Luke was silently vowing to never have children (sorry, Ben) as he tried to hold onto an infant and simultaneously track his three year old step-sister and his ten year old father, who insisted in going in opposite directions as soon as they hit the park.

Hot chocolate. Luke needed all the hot chocolate.

Jan kept making trips back and forth to the table of food, eating as much as a slight 5-year-old could be expected to hold and then going back for seconds and thirds.

It wasn't often that he got to eat as much as he wanted. He intended to make the experience last.

Momoko had slipped away and was back at the food tables (to everyone's surprise, no doubt) when she recognized someone.

"Ah! You! I remember you!" She reached for another cookie and munched it. "I'm Momoko, remember? We shared a muffin and some cookies before!"

It was a loooong time ago, sure, but sharing food made you Momoko's friend and Momoko remembered her friends.

For sitting! Or potentially standing. Please be careful.

Jaq sat down quietly at one of the tables with a book about the history of Earth, and a few snacks that he'd taken from the food and drink table.

He stayed there, squinting at the words on the pages.

Tyrion had been skipped the other Homecoming festivities, but he made an exception for the brunch. He had mixed feelings as to whether this had been a good decision when he saw how many children were about.

Hopefully they at least wouldn't pull on his hair.

He sat down at a table with a large plate of breakfast and a book about Napoleon, paying more attention to the second than to the first.

That would be Dinah with the balloons. Flailing them. And giggling when some inevitably popped. Take that, wolves!

Also, she was wondering where the lady who was scared of balloons was. Maybe she could save her again!

Victor ate a couple muffins, but then his attention was taken by the playground. He was going to very scientifically test all of the equipment.

If that meant swinging really high, running really fast, climbing really high, and jumping off things that probably weren't meant to be jumped off of, it was all for the sake of science.

DID HE JUST JUMP WHILE SWINGING?

Momoko was in love.

"Jaime! Jaime! Over there! Come on!" Was all the warning Jaime got before Momoko took off and ran up to the strange boy.

"How'dja do that!!" The five year old red-head looked eagerly up at Victor. "Can you TEACH me?!"

Jaime was used to the whiplash by now, so he just followed along in bemusement. Though his eyes did rise slightly at her sudden enthusiasm for doing things that were probably dangerous.

"Hi," he added to Momoko's enthusiasm, smiling at the other kid.

Knock knock.

Who's there?

Knock knock!

I said, 'Who's there?'

Knock Knock is my name, okay? My parents were hippies, you insensitive jerk!

I am hard of hearing, could you repeat that? Hello? Is anyone there? Anyone? I'm so alone.
