It had taken some time, but everything was set. The community center had been tatefully decorated and looked nice and welcoming, the stage was set, all the technical kinks had been worked out, there were refreshments set out for after the show, and things were finally ready. For those going to head onstage! Get your jitters out, talk to the other performers, watch from the wings, get talked into things you didn't sign up for...

It'd be pretty easy to find Annie backstage. She was the one in a pretty dress, pacing slightly as she went through cards for each act, and maybe giving threatening looks to the NPC who'd spent the setup time playing with the sound to her microphone.

After not finding Whitney anywhere here, Rhodey was about ready to admit defeat and call Tony to let her know that she was loose on the island.

Possibly doing girl things. Maybe if he called Pepper for advice on that... On second thought, no. That was a horrible idea.

"Hi, have you seen a blonde girl back here?" he asked someone he sure as hell hoped knew what was going on here.

Please ignore that squeaking sound she just made, guy from yesterday.

When she found her voice, she said, "Well, we have a couple blonde girls performing... Which one?"

"You gotta be kiddin' me," Kelli said as she entered the auditorium with Luke. Both of her arms were wrapped around one of Luke's, ensuring that he couldn't skip off and leave her alone like he had done this afternoon and to indicate to everybody just who she was with. He had struggled to get out of her grip a few times but she had supernatural strength working for her. "I can't believe you brought me to a talent show recital thing. This is so Saved by the Bell."

What? Monsters watched TBS in the mornings too.

"You're much more well behaved when we're in public," Luke said as his excuse as to why they had showed up to this in the first place. He wasn't much for this whole recital thing, but it was better than being alone with Kelli. "Just sit down."

Annie stepped onto stage precisely on time, smiling behind the microphone.

"Good evening, Fandomites and guests, and welcome to our recital!" she said, waiting for the applause that had better come if anyone had any manners. "We've got a great show for you tonight, so sit back and enjoy!"

Ender and Alai had been present for the whole thing - one looking slightly more amused than the other. The former had been busy scouting the audience for his parents, and having found neither of them, had only just relaxed.

"Your school is certainly a lot more entertaining than where I've been these past few months," Alai said.

"That's one way of looking at it," Ender said, philosophically.

Alai just bumped him with his shoulder.

"Chin up, oomay."

Ender looked up, smiling a little at the sound of Ben's voice, though the look on Ben's face was enough to force Ender to facepalm and/or sigh in private for the next three days. "Ho, Ben," he said. "What'd you think of the recital?"
