The Boards, Wednesday

Genesis had spent the last few days brooding, as he tended to do when left alone, and sulking about missing Angeal. (Not that he'd admit it out-loud, but he would wager half his paycheck that Angeal knew exactly what he was doing.)

Today, however, he had something else to do.

And that something else? RehearsalDrinks were set out--coffee, tea, ( Read more... )

For all of that off-stage nomming and talking.

Warren wasn't in either of the scenes that they were going over today, but that wasn't going to stop him from sitting back with his script in hand, wings splayed out at slightly awkward angles as he went over his lines. He was going to be stretching out a lot, this week, to make up for a weekend spent hiding them.

"You? Crazy? Just because you want to kill someone for looking good...?"

He was actually sort of starting to get into this role.

"The Hunter will need to be more incredulous," Genesis said, having listened to him for a moment. Studying the wings, but more interested in the lines. "This is the woman he loves, wanting him to kill someone for looking better than she is."

"More incredulous," Warren repeated, thoughtfully. And then he nodded, took a breath, and tried again. He really wasn't Hollywood material, but at least there was some effort going on, there. And a bit more emphasis in all the right places.

"You? Crazy?" He shook his head, raised a hand and ran it through his hair. "Just because you want to kill someone for looking good? Just because you spend every. waking. moment worrying about your looks? Just because you work all day exercising and using every crazy beauty aide that comes along instead of... looking out for the welfare of the kingdom?" He exhaled, a sort of almost rueful, silent laugh. "No, I wouldn't call that crazy. I call that INSANE!"

... This script was unholy amounts of fun.

Christian wasn't pacing as he waited for his turn to take the stage; he was practicing waking very gracefully.

It was just easy to mistake for pacing.

Genesis wasn't going to call him on the pacing, no. But he was going to say:

"A prince," he noted, "would likely walk with more arrogance in his movements. Would you say he is well aware of his station?"

"More than aware," Christian nodded. "He's almost bragging about it. He calls himself I.M. Charming."

He straightened his back and took a larger step, trying to remain graceful. "Like this?"

Claudia was in the catwalks. Exploring and taking notes. And probably having far too much fun with it all.

"I have no objection to your being up there," Genesis called. "But kindly resist the temptation to fall."

He'd hate to have to explain that one to the Turk.

That was also his way of saying 'be careful'.

"Falling would suck," Claudia agreed cheerfully. "I'll keep that in mind!"

Sophie had missed last week's due to an emergency theft business, but she was here now, considering. "How are things going so far?"

"Today? Well enough." With a glance at Sara and Jack. "Minor difficulties, all told. Last week was--rather bumpier, but we managed."

Sophie's lips twitched as she caught sight of the napping Jack. "I suppose we should be glad he showed up. At least if we need him he's here. What were the other stresses?"
