Karla was exhausted, but dragged herself to work anyway. It was nice to have a work to go back to. And even nicer to see Hercules there, mewling at her ankles, apparently no worse the wear for his weekend wherever

Leda's initial intention upon coming to the shop was to cling just a bit to her friend. But it looked like Karla might not need someone clinging to her just now.
So just in case she really was asleep, Leda was very quiet, and laid a T-Shirt on the counter.
It said, in Leda's own handwriting, "My friend went to Silent Hill and all I got was this lousy t-shirt".
Startling a witch awake after a weekend of danger was not actually on the list of 'brightest activities ever.' Fortunately for James, Karla realized where she was at the last minute and the blast of Sapphire power that had been meant for James's face was hastily redirected towards a display instead.
Damn. She was totally going to have to pay for that. Everything on the shelves had been burned or melted and even the shelves were rather twisted. Hell's fire.
"Bananth!" James exclaimed, peering above an undamaged display of--nevermind. "Is there a crossbolt target on my forehead? Do I look a goblin?" His happy mood had evaporated. "That's the second time today!" Yes, Ino speaking in his head was an 'attack.'
"You startled me. After I spent a weekend getting attacked," Karla said, lips pursed and arms crossed. "How would you expect me to react? A maidenly shriek and swoon?"
