Theodoric's of York - Sunday Afternoon

Feb 07, 2010 15:24

It was time for a much needed girls' day out/spa day.

Joan arrived early and made arrangements for discounts on massages, mani/pedis and facials.

And then she settled in to watch the Puppy Bowl while she got her nails done.

[mostly for the girls who were invited though can be open to anyone]

Jennifer relaxed as she got her massage... though the masseuse was having some issues with how tough her muscles were.

"You know, I'm thinking a manicure before Fight Club would be pretty silly," she remarked.

"Probably," Joan agreed. "But you could get a pedicure! Fighting wouldn't ruin that."

"Unless I suddenly fight barefoot," Jennifer joked. "Which... no, not going to do that."

"Ew, no, I can't see where that would be a good idea in any way," Joan agreed.

Kate was all about getting a manicure. She had pretty hands and they deserved it.

Emotional things had been going on earlier in the day, but now she was a picture of ease, and-- "Puppy Bowl? What's that?"

"It's the much cuter version of the Superbowl," Joan said. "Puppies playing football with a kitten half time show, bunny cheerleaders and hamsters in a blimp."

[where football=American football fyi]

"Sounds way better than the real thing," Kate decided, grinning. "Especially the bunny cheerleaders."

"I wonder if they'll give them tiny pom-poms," Joan said.

Because bunnies could totally hold pom-poms.

Ellie was not going to miss out on a day of relaxation. She really only had one issue with it, and it wasn't necessarily a bad one. "I can't decide what I want first."

Joan chuckled. "I went for the manicure first because then I figure my nails can dry while I get my other stuff done and I hopefully won't chip them five seconds after walking out the door."

"That's a good idea," Ellie said. "I think I'm saving the massage for last."

"That sounds like an excellent plan" Joan agreed. "That way we can be super relaxed when we leave."

Hoshi decided to go for a massage first -- might as well enjoy that before getting beat up at Fight Club. "What should I do next? Facial or pedicure?" she asked.

"It is winter," Raven pointed out helpfully. "Your feet are not seen often."

"Except for those when I wear peep-toe pumps at the dance. A good pedicure will definitely be necessary for that," said Hoshi. "And it's anyone's guess who might be seeing my feet after the dance."

"I had not considered that," Raven said, nodding. "I have not gone to the dances here before."

Raven had never been to a spa. She was still tense the attack and finding out it wasn't Max, but she was doing her best to try to relax or at least hide being upset.

"But we can easily do these things to one another without paying," Raven said, thinking of the slumber parties. She hadn't quite grasped the concept of the spa yet.

"Yeah, but when we're here, people do it for us," Kate said, helpfully. "That's the point."

Money wasn't a problem, because 'Dite paid her well and she rarely had any real expenses. "I do not know what I should choose," she said, looking at the spa offerings.

"A manicure seems like a good place to start," Kate shrugged. "That was my preference, anyway."
