The owner of Everything but the Monkey hadn't expected any more shipments today so having one arrive so late surprised him. He didn't immediately recognize the creature save for the fact that it was adorable so he couldn't very well turn the shipment away.
Instead, he got it set up in a modest cage and made a note to do some further research and inspection tomorrow. It was late and he was tired tonight. The little guy would be fine for a few hours.
Was that sinister music playing somewhere? Couldn't be. The owner dismissed it and headed home.
Once the shop had grown quiet, the little creature, restless from its journey, tried to jigger open the door to his cage. It didn't take much and soon he was skittering across the store floor, peering at different things before the moonlight coming through the glass door caught his attention.
With a little more work and some adorable creature sweat, the little guy stumbled out into the cool evening air. Big eyes blinking, he looked around and padded out and away from the pet store. He didn't even notice when it started to rain. And when he started to replicate? It just meant more friends for him!
The rain continued and the creatures started exploring their new home excitedly.
