Homecoming Carnival, The Park, All Day [Post #2]

In keeping with the Homecoming theme, this year's carnival had a harvest festival look to it - mainly because most of the decorations from the dance had been moved out to the park to join the tents, booths, and vendors as they'd gotten set up bright and early this morning. "I will shoot it, if it does," Parker responded, taking another sip of her drink. "How've the last couple weeks treated you? Thrown any Shriners out a window?"

"Midterms sucked toads," she replied. "But I survived and I've managed not to toss anyone through walls. It is nice to have a few days off though."

Parker snickered at the toads comment, and shook her head. "There are no days off in England. At least not 'til the middle of 2010. Christ. Two major papers by Christmas. I'm still contemplating auctioning off my Chinese tutor on eBay."

"You're the one with the double major, ya loon," Isabel said fondly. "Be careful, because if you start sounding too stressed, I'll have Wyatt kidnap you to Tahiti for some R&R."

"When you talk about R&R in spare seconds, you really do need a break," she replied. "At least you're here for the weekend. I guess it'll have to do you till break."

"December 14." Parker toed one shoe off, then back on. "Then a month break until I have to be back." She studied Isabel. "The first part of what I have to get done, I want to schedule for then. Xander and Zero have said they're in. That work for you?"

Isabel nodded. "All my exams will be done by the twelfth. I'm in."

"I'll send you more details as the time gets closer. I'm going to need Jarod's help on this, I think. But I already had one volunteer here without even having to look for one," Parker said, still a little unsettled by that. "Have you ever met a student named Triela?"

"Walked up to me, offered me her card, told me that she met another me in an alternate universe and owed me one." Parker gave a what the hell? shrug, and shook her head. "Student here. Advanced weapons training. If the security's really tight, she could be helpful. She was the second one, this little blonde named Karla did the same thing last night, telling me that apparently I was a raging bitch who helped keep people alive over there."

Isabel nodded, connecting the dots. "Considering what Savannah told me about that place, that makes sense. Someone would have to take charge to keep people alive. You'd be good at it."

"Maybe. I'm amazed my ulcer didn't do me in over there, with vampires, but I guess it was even odds." Parker made a face. "Anyway. I like her taste in clothes and guns, she knows how to be discreet, we'll when the time comes." Her lips drew up in a smirk. "I wonder who else was leading the troops over there. Did Savannah say?"
