"You're back. Fantastic," Ghanima said as people started assembling in the gym. "If you're wandering in for the first time, this is Fight Club. If this isn't where you are supposed to be, then there's the door."
"Do we need to talk more, Ghanima?" Tyler asked, a wheedling note in his voice. "It's been a while since either of us had a good match. I say we go."
"Fine. You and you. You two. You, with Tyler," she said briskly. "You pick the other three lucky couples."
Tyler seemed almost surprised at her selection for his bout, but ... "All right, then you get him," he said.
It only seemed fair.
"And then, uh, those two, and him and him." He clapped his hands once. "Go to it. Ghani will be on her mat for beginners after she fights."
