"Welcome back to Fight Club," Tyler began. "You've been put through drills, labeled, and classified in neat little boxes for us to play with. If that pisses you off ... it should. But it's how this works

Turtle had warned her; she wasn't used to people being warned before hand (although most people still knew that it was a possibility). It was a stupid move, anyway, and she knew it, so she wasn't at all surprised when Fiona got her arm and wrenched it behind Turtle's back. She sucked in a breath. And promptly stomped the hard part of her heel down on Fiona's toes. She didn't wait to see what kind of reaction that would get before trying to squirm out of the hold.

Probably not as much of one as expected; Fiona had mentioned the 'hard skin' part. But it was enough of an ooof that she stumbled a little, letting go of Turtle's arm.
Yanking her foot out from under Turtles, though, she went for a kick to the back of the knee.
Re: Group One: Turtle vs. FionastocksgrrlJune 22 2009, 19:25:21 UTC
That got her, too, causing Turtle's knee to lurch down underneath her, but she caught herself before she could really fall. A few awkward steps forward and she spun around quickly to face Fiona, her face burning red over how much an idiot she looked like. But she shouldn't be thinking about that; you didn't think about stuff like that in a fight, and Turtle, though doubtful of her upper arm attacks, threw forward a fist, which would probably end up somewhere around Fiona's shoulder.
Re: Group One: Turtle vs. FionacutsthestringsJune 22 2009, 19:29:41 UTC
It took a dip of her knees to send the punch past her. She almost caught herself watching it, turning her head, before she pushed with her legs to try and tackle Turtle.
Re: Group One: Turtle vs. FionastocksgrrlJune 22 2009, 19:40:00 UTC
Hey, that was her move! And usually not until at least a few more punches had been thrown! Turtle hit the mats under the tackle with a little "Oof." And then a grunt and a moment of gratitude that Fiona wasn't that big. She tried to push up off the mats to roll on top of Fiona instead of the other way around.
Re: Group One: Turtle vs. FionacutsthestringsJune 22 2009, 19:43:55 UTC
Fiona had thought she might, but planning and counteracting were two different things. She didn't have a hand where she could push back and Turtle managed to get on top of her.
Re: Group One: Turtle vs. FionastocksgrrlJune 22 2009, 20:28:23 UTC
Oh, crap. Turtle started to wonder if it would be better to just forget the whole pinning thing because it was pretty likely that Fiona could pin her back, so when the other girl pushed, she pushed back for a moment, but stopped once the other girl could manage to overpower her.
God, she hoped this would work. It was a risk. She let Fiona push her, but, as they started to turn, she went to try to keep rolling before she could be trapped, giving Fiona another quick push away.
Re: Group One: Turtle vs. FionastocksgrrlJune 22 2009, 20:33:54 UTC
"Crap!" Turtle said, pinned and blustered because it almost worked. Almost. She tried to buck her hips to dislodge Fiona, or at least buck her hips in able to get enough space that she could turn them and try to roll the other girl back.
Re: Group One: Turtle vs. FionastocksgrrlJune 22 2009, 20:42:15 UTC
And neither did Turtle, really, short of squirming a lot, lifting her shoulders up briefly trying to kick her legs...
Wait a second.
She didn't know if it would work; maybe their positions were all off, but Turtle settled back on the mats for a second, sighing almost with defeat, before sucking in another breath and mustering everything she had into trying lifting up one of her knees, sharply. Which might not do anything, but it was worth a try.

...okay, that might not have been a good idea after all. Turtle started to wince turning her face away, before she realized, that, duh, Fiona had to let go of her hand to punch her in the face, and that arm was definitely going up to block it if she could.

"Oof."

She didn't exactly know what that would accomplish, but, hey, she'd be on top, right, and that counted for something.
