Having listened to radio last night, Ben was prepared with an Unexpected Child Invasion Protocol. He had worked out this plan after the last time people turned into children. As if one child hadn't been enough, another seemed to have shown up right in Daisy's apartment last night, and so now there were two. It was still Sunday, though. She had things to do. She thought maybe Marcus could be old enough to watch Justice, but Marcus had complained about being left behind and she couldn't get Justice to let go of her, besides, and so they were coming with her.

Maybe there were some toys at the shop that could entertain them so that Mum could have some much needed adult conversation.

"Morning, Ben." The greeting lacked its usual chipperness. "Please to meet my impossible children. Marcus is the big one and the spider monkey in my hair here is Justice."

Yes, she apparently was going to name her child Justice.

That wasn't the worst part about Justice, either.

It really wasn't helping that Marcus was snickering, too. Daisy sucked in a breath and lifted her chin a little. "I can only imagine," she stated, "that her birth was problematic and I needed a lot of drugs to get through it."

"It's understandable," Ben said. "Marcus, Justice, it's nice to meet both of you."

"Justice!" Justice said proudly, emphasizing it by lifting her arms. With her hands still full of Daisy's hair, and she giggled.

Then she added, "Hello, Mister Ben."

Daisy was trying to shoot daggers here, but it was hard when he was laughing and there was a four year old playing with your hair.

"Precocious, aren't they?" she said dryly.

"I'm sorry. I was prepared to be mortified by the love nest thing, but the closet made it funny," Ben said. He stopped laughing suddenly. "Neither of them are mine, are they? I don't want to laugh about my kid being trapped in a closet."

Daisy looked at Ben a moment, and then shifted her eyes toward Marcus, with his dark skin and curly black hair.

"Oh, yeah," she said. "He's yours; can't you tell? Looks just like you."

"And, don't worry, Justice isn't yours, either," Daisy added. "But we won't talk about her apparent paternity."

She tried not to make a face, but it was very difficult.

"There's a reason I'm entirely certain they're impossible and the island is just being....how it is."
