Café Fina, Tuesday

Naminé wasn't her usual white dress again today. She'd be back to it soon enough, she just felt colorful at the moment. Festive.

BE OUR GUEST!
Have dessert! It's on the house! This had nothing to do with Student Council, which Naminé wasn't aware she was running for. It simply seemed like a good day to share dessert ( Read more... )

Wilson grinned and nodded.

"It would," he said before turning his attention back to the menu and making his choice for a main course.

Then, he set the menu aside to wait for the service staff, his attention focusing back on Lucifer and for the time being, he lapsed into that content and companionable quiet of his, though his mind was anything but still.

Fall was in the air, particularly on this crisp evening and Wilson's busy little brain might have been attempting to plot out how best to ask Lucifer to join he and Aziraphale for leaf rustling ... there might even have been a flash of trying to imagine the Lightbringer flat on his back in a leaf pile.

Which definitely earned him a raised eyebrow and a very polite but certain no.

He was not about to play in leaves. But that didn't mean he wouldn't watch and chuckle at the two of them.

"Then that is what we will order," Lucifer told him, lifting a hand to summon a... plate over.

There might have been a small pout but it was mostly for show and gone in a flash as the mortal mentally skipped away from that 'line' with good humor and grace.

And now it was his turn to watch Lucifer and the plate. He hadn't actually been here since the new management took over and was curious to see how the Lightbringer comported himself around a sentient ... plate.

Just like he would deal with most beings. Mild disdain and boredom.

"The stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer," He ordered, looking over the menu. "The sirloin with the lyonnaise potatoes for myself. Rare, please."

When it was his turn, Wilson smiled politely to the plate and said.

"I'd like the escolar fish with mango and shrimp ravioli, please and a glass of your house white when you have a moment."

There, order given he could go back to Lucifer watching which was one of the mortal's favorite past times, after all. The angel might find his own perfection boring but Wilson enjoyed studying his lover's face, there seemed to be so many fleet and subtle nuances to the Lightbringer's expression.

"Very rarely," he said softly. "Do you do something, without a thought or purpose behind or in front of it."

There was no accusation in his tone, merely curious about the date tonight.

"And?" Lucifer asked, sitting back and cocking his head at the doctor. There was simply a mild curiosity as to why this was being brought up now.

Reaching for his wine glass as it was delivered, Wilson sat back and studied Lucifer in return. He could certainly continue with the question, satisfy the curiosity about why Lucifer had asked him out tonight to dinner but he knew that in a way the question would, bore the Adversary.

Besides there were better ways to pass the companionable evening.

Wilson knew Lucifer could probably feel these thoughts in his mind and he simply smiled and gave his head a shake before sipping at his wine.

"It will be beautiful soon. I love Fall, the colors on the trees, the smell of wood smoke from a fire in a hearth, sweaters."

He was allowed to do things without a reason on occasion. Of course, that would never happen, but the ability was there.

"I must admit, I prefer the winter weather," Lucifer replied.

"Snow does have it's unequaled charm," Wilson agreed softly. "What do you like best about it?"

Lucifer shrugged. "The quiet, I suppose."

Wilson lowered his wine glass and after a breath, he smiled softly and looked down.

"You did seem to particularly enjoy that aspect of the weather, that first night," he said softly, mind casting back to the walk from the Nest up to the apartment building.

Lucifer studied his face for a moment with an almost clinical detachment before looking down, the corners of his mouth turning up slightly. "It's peaceful."

Wilson gave Lucifer a moment before peeking up at him from behind impossibly long lashes.

"At least, till your walking companion drops snow down his own shirt?"

Lucifer smirked. "I find that very unlikely."

"Well, perhaps not now." Wilson agreed with a grin that grew cheeky. "Particularly since I need to take good care of the shirts I borrow."
