The Causeway, Monday Evening

John stood on the causeway, letting two years of memories wash over him as he stands amidst his bags, not quite ready to go off into the wild blue yonder.

"Hi, John," Annette said softly as she made her way towards him.

"Hey, Annette. How's things?"

"Going pretty good." She paused, looking at him. "You're leave, huh?"

"Yep. Taking off for a bit, at least."

"Hey, Blondie. No beach party today?" He smiled, a little.

"Off-island. Probably permanently," he said, hooking his thumbs in his pockets. "I'll try to come back, cuz..." He leaves it unsaid for now.

"Hey John" Ami said sadly.

"Ami," he said, sad grin on his face.

"Leaving?"

"Yep. Agatha threw me out," he said with a sad smirk. "Says I'm too lazy and don't fix anything."

Billy found his way down to the causeway, cause he'd heard that John was heading out.

"So, where you headed?"

John was loading everything onto the motorcycle. "Yo, man. I'm.. um... headed off. To follow Rosette."

"The nun? You dog you."

"Why does everyone keep saying that?"

"Hey" Naomi said quietly as she came over.

"Naomers!" john called. "Good to see ya."

"Will this be goodbye for good?" Naomi asked softly.

"I... really hope not. This is home, more'n anything I can remember." He gave her a wan smile.
