Outside the Danger Room, 7th period

Sep 13, 2006 07:48

Holding a large stick with a piece of poster board attached wasn't the easiest thing to do with one hand. Which meant that Blair's big protest sign today spent a lot of time leaning on the walk next to him when his arm got too achy.

He felt bad though and intermittently would call out the sign's message loudly. "Give Peace a Chance!"

Sam did his best not to facepalm again when he saw Blair and his sign. "Thank you for changing the message to something less...offensive," he said.

"Yeah, man." Blair stood and leaned the sign against the wall. "I'm sorry about last week's sign being so rude. I should have thought about that more and not accused you guys."

He held out his non-casted hand to shake. "Are we good, man?"

"Yeah, we're good," he said, shaking Blair's hand. "Trust me, you're not the first person to piss my dad off, and you certainly won't be the last."

"Cool, man." Blair bounced. "Yeah, I went over the line last time with him so I wrote him a letter. Hopefully that will make him less pissed."

Alanna blinked at Blair and then slowly smiled.

And then he spotted her.

"I promised that I'd keep you out of detention for hitting him."

"I'm not planning on hitting him." Alanna promised with a small. "I have...other plans."

"Fine with me. My promise was just about keeping you from detention for hitting him."

Walter leaned against a wall to watch. "Be my guest."

Walter stopped and looked around for Alanna. He'd promised her that he'd keep her from hitting Blair if he did this again.

"Hey there, man." Blair waved his good hand at Walter.

Walter shook his head at Blair. "Wasn't last week enough for you?"

"This week I've got a much less offensive sign." Blair said, pointing to the sign that rested on the wall beside him.

Parker was just passing by on her way to go bug Dr. Wilson or Mr. Azriphale, and had to stop and facepalm. "Blair. What are you protesting?"

"Hunting class!" Blair waved his good hand at Parker and bounced.

Was it worth it to ask? Probably not. "Because why? And wouldn't protesting to the administration be more effective?" Parker cocked her head, and said, "How's your arm?"

"Because demons are people too." Blair shrugged. "I don't want to protest the administration because I don't want Dean and Sam's dad to lose his job. I'm just hoping he'll change what he teaches."

"It hurts a lot less now." Blair held it out. "Did you want to sign?"

Having been warned by Sam, John was not surprised to find Blair parked outside the door of the Danger Room when he exited at the end of the class.

He studied the sign for a moment with his arms crossed over his chest. "That brins back memories," he all but drawled wryly.

"You get protested a lot in your line of work?"
