"Phoebe's turned into a mermaid," Lana said, her face looking even more worried. "And I can't find her anywhere. I went all up and down the beach, but I finally had to come in to cool off and rest. It's just too hot out there."
Tempe, who had just ventured out of her room for the first time since she'd returned from Illinois earlier in the day, found herself on the fourth floor for no apparent reason walked into the common room, and spotted Lana.
She walked over and sat down next to her. "Watching anything interesting?"
Tempe nodded. "You know my name?" she asked, eyebrows raised in surprise. "...have we met? Because if we have, I apologize, because I really can't remember your name."
She felt a little silly, like maybe she should have put more effort out there to meet people, so that situations like this wouldn't be awkward.
"Not officially, I don't think," Lana said still seeming a bit distracted, "But it's a small school. And somebody handwavily pointed you out before."
She smiles a little ruefully. "I could have been completely off with the name. And yes, just flipping channels. If there's something you want to watch, feel free." She holds the remote out to the other girl.
