Second floor common room, midday Sunday

The Tick came in, carrying the gallons upon gallons of paint Quinn had bought.

"Where do you want me to put these for now?"

"Anywhere's good. Thanks pack mule Professor Blue Guy," Quinn says happily.

"You're very welcome!" Tick said, placing the cans in the middle of the room. "Have fun with the redecoration!"

Zero comes back from somewhere, possibly the library, with a mop and a bucket. "Squall. This is a disaster."

"I know! Imagine the health code violations!"

"What're we goin' to do for furniture? Theft it from the other floors?"

Quinn looks at her like she's insane. "We have a chance to get all new stuff! Besides, it wouldn't go with the color scheme. Though we might be able to get someone with a good credit card balance Oh, Jack O'Neill... to help us out with that."

Marty comes in hauling in the 40" flat screen TV from his room. "Consider this my donation to the cause. Just make sure this is bolted to the wall so those *other* floors don't get any wise ideas and try to steal it.

"You're a good man, Blank. I was goin' to donate mine, but it's far less swerval." Zero admires the TV for a moment before returning to the hard work of trying to salvage the floor (or what's left of it).

Marty looks at the floors. "You think that's worth saving?"

"Unless I pony up for carpet, I don't see as we have another option. Actually...grind this. Hold that thought." Zero goes to the window for the cell phone reception and places a call.

"Hello, Mum? Someone blew up our common room. Yes, blew it up. I know. I KNOW. We've got paint, and someone else is takin' care of the furniture, but we need carpet. I don't know how much carpet runs, but can I...thank you. I have to go." She flips her phone shut. "Squall this. I'm paying for carpet. My work here is done."

She stays to paint anyway. Because she's nice like that.

Callisto happened to pass by the common room, she saw the state it was in and started snickering.

Quinn glares. Some people just don't get it.

But Callisto's popular so Quinn won't say that out loud.

"So, uh, what happened here? You lot get drunk and decide to redecorate last night?"

"I'm not sure, but it's our chance to make things cool now," Quinn says. "No more of this boring color scheme. I have plans for it."

[walter_n_wires]

Walter wanders by, looks in, sees the work in progress and disappears, returning a few minutes later wearing clothes with some strangely fresh red, white, and blue paint stains.

"Did you need some help and what happened here?"

"No idea, but I'm making it better," Quinn says. "Thanks! Brushes are there."

Because after all, the more people that help, the less work she has to do.

Walter's not at all sure about her color selection, but it's not his common room - let the second floor people suffer with it.

"Walter Dornez," he says, sticking out a hand before grabbing a brush.

She shakes his hand. "Quinn Morgendorffer. Hi," she says, and she'll forgive newbies for not knowing her name.
