The deck, Monday afternoon

Jun 23, 2014 13:58

There was little in this world (or her own) that Raven enjoyed more than a proper lazy summer vacation day, and she intended to make full use of the break from workshops. It'd been awhile since she'd taken advantage of the dorm's deck, but she was out in force, this afternoon, sporting a cute little blue strapless suit and a pair of actual, for ( Read more... )

Ichabod had also decided that this was a good day for reading a book out of doors. Approaching the deck he noticed someone already there, and when he got close enough to recognize Raven he also saw that she was wearing next to nothing!

Ichabod blinked, unsure where to look, but doing his best not to stare at the young lady.

"Miss Raven!" he greeted nervously. "I see we have come to the same conclusion as to the best way to spend the day."

It was probably best that Ichabod never learn that Raven was actually technically naked about 99% of the time. "Hi Ichabod," she greeted, pushing her sunglasses up onto her head and smiling. "It's a beautiful day for it." She sat up a little and gestured to the pitcher. "Want some iced tea?"

Never tell him that, Raven.

Ichabod's gaze quickly moved to the pitcher. "Y-yes, please," he replied. Judging from Raven's behaviour, her costume was a perfectly normal one here, and so he decided to do his best to act as if he saw nothing strange with it. He pulled a deck chair up next to her, but not too close, and facing the sea.

It would even be considered somewhat modest, by today's standards. "So what are you reading? Something modern, or from your own time?"

Will had gone for a long, long run around the island and had spent the last little while cooling down and stretching. Now, coming back to the dorms, he detoured towards the deck.

"You look like you're enjoying the weather," he said by way of greeting. "Though, I'd probably avoid the books if I were in your shoes but still."

He smiled easily.

Raven smiled back. "I'm a little old fashioned," she said. "I still like books as much as television."

And radio as much as both.

"This one wasn't my pick, though. My brother won't shut up about it until I read it."

"I like books too but I don't tend to read them outside," he explained. "I like to run or swim or something else when I'm outside. Save the reading for when I'm inside. Seems like an indoor activity to me."

"It's an every where activity," Raven said firmly. "Running and swimming are great, but sometimes I just want to lie around in the sun."

Oblivious to Raven's dubstep plans and the fact that she was wearing a swimsuit, Barry had come to the deck to work on his wallet sized solar battery.

"Hey Raven," he said absently as he sat down and started tinkering. "What's the good word for the day?"

"Onomatopoeia," Raven said, picking the first word that sprung to mind. "Hi, Barry." She sat up and leaned a bit to get a look at what he was working on. "Big plans to power a city?"

"Nah. I dropped this earlier so I'm trying to recharge it without it fucking exploding on me," Barry said nonchalantly. "Enjoying your week off from classes so far?"

"Not that classes are really very strenuous here, but yes. It's nice not to have anything to do, sometimes." Raven gave the battery a suspicious look. "Is an explosion likely?" Because exploding was not on her list of preferred lazy summer vacation activities.

Rapunzel scampered out to the deck today, hair dragging behind her and sketchbook in arm, and paused when she saw Raven.

She frowned, then looked around. "Are you going swimming?"

Look how she was using her context clues! Good job, Rapunzel!

Raven smiled "Nope. Just sunbathing. Though it might be fun to go down to the beach this evening, closer to sunset."

"Sunbathing," Rapunzel repeated curiously, frowning a little in thought before contentedly flopping into a deck chair. "Do you mind having company while you sunbathe? I was gonna sit out here and draw, but if I'm a bother I can go away!"

Sunbathing did not seem to be a private activity, like regular bathing, but Rapunzel figured she ought to check all the same.

"I actually usually like it more with company," Raven said. "What are you going to draw?"
