Toby had ducked out of work a little early, when the talk of cats and improving muscle mass had finally gotten a bit too much.

"Hey, man," he greeted, flopping down on the couch.

"Toby," Jace said, giving Toby a nod as a greeting. "How's it going?"

"Did you know how many squirrels can ride on a cat?" Toby replied. "Because apparently it's 48,071."

"That many squirrels on one cat?" Jace asked. "Seems a little unbelievable to me."

"Since when do you watch TV?" Alec asked, joining him on the couch.

And since when did Alec stalk the fifth floor for signs of life? Well, okay, that wasn't that new.

"I felt sociable and there's no other form of entertainment in here," Jace said. "Unless you count cooking which, no. Not happening."

"I'm sure you'd be better than Isabelle," Alec pointed out. Of course, that was saying basically nothing. "You must at least know how to boil water."
