"Since when do you watch TV?" Alec asked, joining him on the couch.

And since when did Alec stalk the fifth floor for signs of life? Well, okay, that wasn't that new.

"I felt sociable and there's no other form of entertainment in here," Jace said. "Unless you count cooking which, no. Not happening."

"I'm sure you'd be better than Isabelle," Alec pointed out. Of course, that was saying basically nothing. "You must at least know how to boil water."

"I believe I could pull that off, yes," Jace agreed. "Still, I don't want to be cooking for the entire floor. That's always how it turns out."

"That's fair." Plus Chinese food was awesome, even if Alec was ninety percent sure Jace had just stolen that out of the fridge. Parabatai intuition, yo. "How's your week been?"

"Utterly dull." Which would explain why he was hanging out in here and watching TV. "Was yours any better?"

"I spoke to someone from another planet and picked up my bow from Barton," Alec recited. "Nothing all that interesting."

"Speaking to someone from another planet wasn't all that interesting?" Jace asked. "That's sort of disappointing."

"Well, she was sort of interesting on her own," Alec disclaimed, because he wasn't about to go around calling people boring. Except for how he totally did by accident. "But I'm getting the idea that since we weren't interrupted halfway through by a... mariachi squirrel band, it qualifies as fairly mundane."

"Did you tip them after they were done playing?" Seemed like a logical question to him.

"Still more exciting than what I've done this week," he said. "For such a strange place it can be painfully boring sometimes."

"Needs more Downworlders to bother, I think."

Clearly Jace had to go meet the island's new werewolf. Trying to bother him would be a joy!

"Of course you would think that," Alec said, somewhat fondly. "Not that I would mind something to do. Though I think I'd prefer an actual demon infestation." And Callie didn't count. Certainly not Bel.

"I do not!" At least he was using his inside voice for the flailing this time. That was something, right? "I just -- wouldn't mind a fight. Since I went and got my bow back and all."

Yes, and looking at Clint's arms while he was all dressed in workout gear had been such a chore.

"Maybe we should head home for a weekend sometime. Grab Izzy, patrol a little..."

"It wouldn't be a bad idea," Jace agreed with a nod. "I can't believe it's you suggesting it and not me."

Though Jace guessed Alec wanted to see his family more than he wanted to put his life in danger for fun.
