Fifth Floor Common Room, Sunday Morning

Mar 04, 2012 09:05

It was Sunday morning, and after a week of largely handwavy moping about, Wesley woke up and felt like brunch was in order. And it seemed as though Fandom agreed with him, because by the time he was finished retrieving food he'd had delivered and preparing some himself, the end result was a quantity quite a bit larger than what he'd intended.

So -- ( Read more... )

And that would be Jack coming back from his morning run and... sniffing out free food.

"Man, I know we don't know each other," Jack said coming into the common room. "But I'm about to propose marriage to you."

Mmm. Nothing like carbs after a morning run.

Wesley barely hid a smile. "I'm terribly flattered," he said wryly, "but I'm afraid I'm in a relationship."

"Fine," Jack joked as he rolled his eyes. "Break my heart. Just don't take my carbs away."

"By all means, help yourself," Wesley invited. "There's more than enough to go around."

He eyed the largely empty common room and amended, "Er. Obviously."

After his Sunday morning workout, some food sounded like a good idea. Fortunately it also smelled like a good idea since eggs didn't usually make sounds. Unless there was an animal in them, but then they would be for brunch.

"Morning, everyone," Bruce said. "Who put this together?" It had to be asked. There was a chance that one of the... less skilled chefs in the dorms tried to do it, and that could end in food poisoning.

"About a third is mine, the rest was delivered," Wesley assured him. "Karla hasn't touched it, I promise."

Pause.

"Or, er, anyone else on her culinary level." But come on, Karla's cooking was the greatest threat to Fandom health and safety in years.

"I've never tried anything she's cooked," Bruce admitted as he grabbed a cup of orange juice to get started. "It seems pretty infamous, though."

"I trust that you actually know what you're doing in the kitchen?"

"Well," Wesley said, "I've never been responsible for cookies leading to the untimely death of an ostrich family." Sadly, not an exaggeration. "Though I understand that's a fairly low bar to set for oneself."

Much like Bruce and Jack, Bobby had also finished up a morning workout (in the form of a run) before coming back into the dorms. Yes, he knew he didn't seem the type. But there it was. "I'm either having some sort of smell-based hallucination, or there's food in here," Bobby said, poking his head into the common room.

Swiftly followed by the rest of him, once he verified that it was, yes, that second thing.

Damn you athletes in this common room. DAMN YOU ALL.

Wesley looked up and grinned. "The latter," he assured Bobby. "Though I take it you've reached that conclusion yourself by now."

Kind of a risky assumption to make, considering that there was still food left. And it was Bobby.

HEY THERE NARRATIVE, IMPLYING BOBBY HAS SOME SORT OF BOTTOMLESS-STOMACH APPETITE.

...Well, actually, yeah, that was fair.

"And you're sharing, right?" he checked. "I mean, that's usually what happens when there's food out, but..." one of these days, he was just gonna assume and then get yelled at 'cause that food wasn't for sharing. Or something.

HE ATE AN OOC THREAD THE OTHER DAY. IT WAS JUSTIFIED.

"Yes, yes, by all means, help yourself," Wesley invited him, grinning. "It'd just be cruel to prepare this quantity of food and bar others from enjoying any."
