As far as Luke knew he had nobody visiting him this weekend but that didn't mean it was going to be entirely peaceful. Knowing Grover was showing up and might possibly be mad at him meant that Luke might be spending the weekend in his room. Deciding to take advantage of the few guest-free hours he had left, Luke decided to hang out in the common ( Read more... )

Alex was on his way back from Wellspring Arms and he...didn't quite make it all the way to his floor. Yet. But that was fine because he'd been hoping to run into Luke sometime soon anyway. "Oh, hey, Luke," he said, and then decided to get right to why he'd been hoping to run into Luke sometime soon: "My dad's coming this weekend. Just. You know. So you know. If that's going to be a problem for some reason?"

With their family you never knew.

Well it was a good thing Luke hadn't been eating at that exact moment otherwise he would have choked and died. Instead he nearly dropped the bowl of cereal he had in his hand. "Oh wow, Ares is coming here? I, uh, I don't think it'll be a problem with different universes and everything."

He placed the bowl on the counter to avoid any accidents. "My universe's Ares sort of stabbed me once, but I deserved it."

"Well," Alex said pragmatically. "It's my dad. He might have stabbed you even if you didn't deserve it." Alex loved his dad. He also knew him. He paused for a moment, then said, "He probably won't stab you this time. I mean. He doesn't know you and all, and I asked him not to make too big of a scene. I think even he knows stabbing someone counts as a scene."

"Well that's a relief," he said, smiling slightly. "Last year Hades, Poseidon, and Hermes showed up but I don't think anybody has to worry about that this time around."

So either the fifth floor was out of mugs or it was choosing to hide said mugs from Wesley, but either way, he found his way to the third floor to look for one.

"Oh, hello." Guy he'd gone to his girlfriend's home dimension with without ever really talking to.

"Hey," Luke said, shifting a little so Wesley could get to the cabinets without him in the way. "Wesley, right?"

"Right," Wesley agreed with a slight nod as he rummaged around for a mug. Jackpot! Sure, it had little teddy bears and rainbows on it, but it was a mug. "And, ah... Luke?"

He was actually pretty sure of that one, but it seemed more appropriate to ask.

"Yeah," he confirmed with a nod. "How've you been? Haven't seen you since the whole Panem thing."
