Fifth floor common room - Late morning

Jul 17, 2011 14:59

It was almost nearing noon when Faramir returned from that morning's ride. He'd ridden far, had even crossed to the mainland so when he return, his stomach was growling. Which meant that the common room was his first stop. He'd change out of his ranger drab later. A quick survey of the fridge had him pulling up eggs and bacon which would be plenty ( Read more... )

Kate the cat thought with her nose when she was a human so it wasn't a surprise that she did it when she was a cat. She smelled food and before Bod could stop her, she was into the common room and honing in on the smell.

Bod slipped in behind her, shaking his head and giving an apologetic smile to Faramir just in case Kate tried to get some of his food.

"Good morning," he greeted, trying to scoop the cat up. "Kate's turned into a cat and apparently I don't feed her enough since she seems to have found her way to more food. Terribly sorry about that."

"No," Faramir laughed, and he had no reason to embarrass himself when he did not truly know Bod. Yet, there was an honesty to him that had him continue the tale regardless. "No windows, at least. I did manage to end up in a bin." He paused. "It stood underneath a desk."

"...how did that happen?" Bod asked, brow furrowing. "Did you fall into it or fly into it? That sounds a little amusing."

"I am certain it was very amusing," he shook his head, a smile tugging at his lips now that it was many months in the past. "I believe I flew down the desk and somehow landed incorrectly. I do not fully remember my intentions."

"Were you stuck there for very long?" Bod asked, laughing quietly. "I hope not, at least."

"Luckily not," Faramir laughed. "Maladicta watched over my during that time and she fished me right out. I believe I was a bit of a burden to here in those weeks, but she never did complain."

"That sounds like a good friend," Bod said, laughing. "I think Kate might complain if I were to turn into an animal if only because I'm sure I would turn into something completely odd."

"That would hardly be your fault," Faramir laughed. "I am certain she will return the favour you are showing her now."

"Probably," he laughed and shook his head. "What if I turned into something smelly and messy? I think that would even test her patience and she can be patient when it comes to me."

"Though it might be short lived if she hears you wishing for it," Faramir pointed out.

"Oh, I definitely don't wish for it," he chuckled, shaking his head. "I'd rather stay as I am now if at all possible. I do much better this way. I was very hard to deal with when I was a girl so I can only imagine what it would be like as an animal."

"But so much easier to ignore," Faramir pointed out. "You would have a much harder time to protest."

"True, very true," he said, snickering again. "See, now you're making me think she'd build me some sort of shelter and just put me in there until I changed back if I were too hard to deal with."

Bod glanced down at the sleeping Kate. "She's going to glare at me for saying all this if she's faking sleep and listening in."

"You can tell her it was a test to see how much of her memory she would retain when she returns to herself," Faramir suggested.

"That's a good idea but I don't know if it would work," Bod admitted with a slight shrug. "Kate's quite smart and I'm an awful liar at the best of times."

"Then I shall hope that she is truly sleeping," Faramir told him, mostly amused. "I think you will manage to make it up to her somehow."
