So, Kate had been pretty pissed off over having let that pale guy escape earlier. For a bunch of reasons. She was telling herself his words weren't one of them

Nathan was plenty alive thank you very fucking much and he wasn't changed at all either. Nope, he was just strolling down the corridor to his room, happily puffing on a smoke and contemplating having an even better smoke once he got into his room.
He really needed to pay better attention to things.
Yeah, he hadn't seen that coming and jumped a little when she was suddenly there. "Jesus fuck, where the hell did you come from? You nearly gave me a heart attack."
Topher might not have been in the most attentive state of mind today, after finding himself with a totally different face. So he didn't even notice the creepy third-floor-pride girl as he was walking through the halls.
Well, he'd probably be happy to know this particular version had no floor pride agenda of any sort, not having lived in the dorms for more than two days total.
Or maybe he wouldn't be happy, because she was creepy. Amused that he seemed not to have noticed her, Kate started following him, matching each step to his, combat boots surprisingly quiet against the hallway floor.
Topher had absolutely zero survival instinct. It would be the reason that one day, he would end up splattered with blood with absolutely nothing to do about it and no sense of self-preservation.
Freddie had found a flashlight, and was using it even if it was still light out.
"Shaggy? Scoob? Velma?" he kept saying, completely worried that he'd lost the rest of the gang. Who would tell him how awesome his hair looked? Who would look up to him as a paragon of manliness? Who would do all the dorky clue-thinky-stuff that he couldn't?
He needed the gang. It was Mystery Inc, not Freddie Jones Inc, after all...
"Hey, have you seen my friends?" he greeted Kate, when he encountered her in the halls.
Kate gave him the most innocent-looking smile she could muster. It was... convincing enough, even if he smelled wonderful and she kind of half wanted to go on a slaughtering rampage through the building.
Ahem. "I wouldn't know," she said. "What do they look like? Are you lost?"
Scully's door was open, and she was typing away on her laptop, working on her Russian homework before going out to see if the rain had stopped. Maybe to head over the Causeway to get some Japanese food later. Blissfully unaware this was one of those weekends.
"Hi Kate." Scully glanced up, her fingers still moving. "Translation of a news article into Russian. Not that I expect they care about the Belmont Stakes. Just wandering around?"

"Hey, dude," she called out, sounding lazy. "Where are you off to?"
