3rd Floor Common Room | Wednesday Evening

After an oh so trying day of class (not really) Luke felt a night sitting in front of the TV and raiding the common room pantry was in order. After a long and tedious search (not really) he came up with a bag of cookies and an episode of Man vs. Food on TV. The episode was set in Baltimore and it had Luke tempted to use the portal at the end of the ( Read more... )

After struggling with a bookshelf that seemed to find sheer joy in dumping the entire works of Shakespeare on Alexander's head several times, he was ready to just sort of veg out and not do anything for a while. He intended to go just to his room, but a little rumble in his stomach made him divert his course a little.

He nodded a greeting to those already there before heading to the cabinet and pulling out a box for macaroni and cheese.

"Thank goodness for modern conveniences," he commented; it was blissful to be able to make a meal without even much work...

Luke spared a glance over at what Alexander had pulled out of the cabinet. "You're willing to put in more effort than I am into making food. I'm impressed."

"And to think this is significantly less effort than what I usual put in," Alexander commented with a chuckle. "Would you like some? It would be easy enough to double the batch, I should think."

"Nah, that's all right. Mac and cheese is a bit too healthy for me," Luke joked. "Besides I think this show is making me lose my appetite."

Actually it was making him crave steak and making him not want to eat steak ever again at the same time. Damn you, Man vs. Food.

FOOD. Topher was a big fan of food. Which was why he'd spent the afternoon and evening looting the various common rooms in search of snacks.

"Cookies," he said, pointing as he flopped down on the couch.

That was a request, Luke, yes.

"Yes, they are cookies." He was ignoring your request, Topher.

But... but... but he wanted!

"Could I, uh." He cleared his throat. "Could I get some?"

Wow! Manners! That was new.

Luke pretended to really think about that moment. A few moments later he handed over the bag. "Well I suppose I'm willing to share."

Juliet was in the common room because it offered food and the occasional cute person. She seemed to be two for two today.

"Are you watching anything interesting?" she asked, as she perched in a chair with a magazine and a bowl of grapes.

"It depends," Luke said, giving Juliet a smile when she sat down. "Do you find a man trying to eat a ton of food in an allotted amount of time interesting?"

"Gross," Juliet said, primly.

Then: "And yes. Do they throw up on camera?"

"He hasn't thrown up yet, but I'm pretty sure this guy is professional eater or something," Luke said. "He's above the whole throwing up thing."

Dave was almost surprised to find that his common room was actually nice and packed. He'd heard so much about the awesomeness of the third floor, but this was his chance to witness it.

"Hi," Dave said, maybe a little too excited at seeing his floor in action. And then his excitement was changed to wonder when he looked at the TV. "What is that guy eating?"

"Steak," Luke told him. "A lot of steak."

"And a quick follow-up question," Dave said. "Why?"

Dave honestly couldn't work it out. He was an innocent uncorrupted by reality television as of yet.

"Uh." Luke wasn't really sure about that. "Well, I mean, people are obviously willing to watch it."

Or he was, anyway. Then again Luke would watch anything.
