Juliet was in the common room because it offered food and the occasional cute person. She seemed to be two for two today.

"Are you watching anything interesting?" she asked, as she perched in a chair with a magazine and a bowl of grapes.

"It depends," Luke said, giving Juliet a smile when she sat down. "Do you find a man trying to eat a ton of food in an allotted amount of time interesting?"

"Gross," Juliet said, primly.

Then: "And yes. Do they throw up on camera?"

"He hasn't thrown up yet, but I'm pretty sure this guy is professional eater or something," Luke said. "He's above the whole throwing up thing."

Juliet contemplated this for a moment. "I suppose that's very considerate of them as professionals," she ventured. "It;s still not a job I want. But I can watch."

"I'm glad 'cause I wasn't about to change the channel," he said, smirking like the jerk he was. "But part of me would have been sad if you were uncomfortable."

Juliet smirked right back. "Then I'm glad I don't have to make you sad," she answered. "Because that would make me sad."

"Well I'm glad we have a mutual interest in each other's feelings," Luke said. "It'll save us a lot of drama and heartache."

"And, as much fun as drama is, it would spoil television about competitive eaters," Juliet said. "Do you think they ever do cupcakes on this show? If they do, it might even count as homework for me."

"How so?" Luke didn't really look at the class schedule so much as he just copied whatever Percy did so he could have someone to help him focus.

"There's a whole class about cupcakes this term," Juliet informed him. "I'm not sure how it's academic, but it's summer and ... maybe there's important secret cupcake knowledge I'll get out of it."

"Oh gods I am so jealous," Luke said. Like he cared if he was taking mostly useful classes this semester, there were cupcakes. "And here I thought my zombie killing class was cool."

"Do you get to practice on actual zombies?" Juliet was at once intrigued and disgusted.

[trickydemigod]

"Just Danger Shop ones," Luke said, almost looking regretful about that. "But I guess you can't expect real zombies from school."

"They have them at the bar," Juliet whined. "But I guess they don't want to hire a new band."

[trickydemigod]

"Oh those zombies are barely zombies," Luke said, waving his hand. "They're like...vegan zombies or something. They aren't a threat."
