Crazy and unexpected situations where one must protect others. Yeah, Alexander had a bit of experience with that. The trick, however, was going to be picking out things that didn't immediately have a magical or incredibly detailed solution that involved...

After feeding doughnuts to two children, Cally wasn't all that frightened of Zack going nuclear. After leftover baked goods at the newspaper meeting, she was more concerned with never sleeping again if she hit the caffeine and snacks here as well.

No, it didn't stop her from having a biscuit in one hand and a coffee in the other.

He shrugged. "If it gets bad enough that the dorms are compromised, though, we should probably defer to Mr. Vimes and Mr. Summers."

Zack nodded his agreement, shooting a smile in Squall's direction. Possibly accompanied by another bounce, what of it?

"Yeah, the Mayor and the Sheriff are definitely the people to turn to, if the town is hit that heavily. I imagine that they'd have their hands pretty full, but they'd let us know pretty quickly if that was the case, too. And anyhow, we're the fighters, so if worse comes to worse, maybe they'd have orders for us on standby, right?"

From the way she was chugging coffee today, Kennedy looked like she was trying to achieve Zack levels of bounce... or just make up for a lot of lost sleep over the weekend. Maybe both.

Zack hadn't lost any sleep this weekend! He'd... actually mostly kind of camped in his room, taking it easy, playing with Mr. Winkles...

And, admittedly, kind of sadfacing about not being a dad for a few days.

Hence all of the sugar! This was his caffeinated denial high.
