So Ariel's plans didn't turn out quite as she would have liked. Raven was appearing to have a bad day, but she still really wanted to have pizza, inspired by earlier with her idea, and, though it didn't have the privacy of her room like she was sort of thinking would be nice, she still could (try to, anyway) invite Chuck to come have some with her

Caroline was so having a night after that message from Nathan earlier and not being able to get anything but Ric's machine. The smell of pizza called to her and she barely managed to wave at the people in the room before grabbing a slice and inhaling the soothing scent of greasy cheese. Almost as good as blood.

"Yeah, he totally copped a feel," Caroline said, totally disappointed that Ariel was that clueless.

There was a bit of a pause there.

And Ariel went back, reviewed the meeting over in her head, and considered it from Caroline's angle.

And was just innocent enough to not want to believe it.

"Nuh-uh," she said, but she looked doubtful. Doubtful enough to then follow it up by, "Really? You think so?"

"Duh!" There were no other words for her concern at this point. "He is the perfect example of a boy with one thing on his mind. But don't worry, he'll get his one day."

Ariel really hadn't been exposed to enough of that sort of thing to really see it as that bad of a thing, so she looked faintly skeptical for a moment before asking, forehead creasing, "You think so? Like, how?"

"Mm, depends on how much of an asshole he is. I mean, if he learns and grows, maybe he'll just suffer atrocious male pattern baldness and have funny looking children. But if not, some girl's so going to nail his balls to the wall."

Ariel winced a little. "That sounds...complicated," she noted. "Although you can still see the funny looking children, anyway. The baldness, a little harder to picture."

"Feeling a little hungry tonight?" Bruce asked.

"Every night," she replied, mouth covered by her hand so she wouldn't horrify him with her chewing. Only after Caroline swallowed did she show off her smile. "Feeling a little judgmental?"

"I wasn't judging, I was only questioning," Bruce said. "I save the judgments until after the questioning is done. Anyway, we're in a room with a Cheetos pizza, so any judgment of you will be softened by that."

"Wait, so you're comparing me to Cheetos pizza now?" Caroline teased. "I don't know, Bruce, you might be heading into dangerous waters already tonight. But if there's questioning to be done, let's hear it."

"It was a favorable comparison. I'd much rather spend time with you than the Cheetos pizza. It's not even a contest," Bruce said. Holding off on his questions to answer hers for the moment.

"I would hope not," she said dryly. "I'm far better accessorized and capable of speech."

"Two strong points in your favor," Bruce said. "But you asked for questions. I'll start easy. Now that it's over, how was your first week here?"

"Oh my God, is it over for real?" Somehow she'd almost forgotten that in the mess of the day. "I think the honest answer would be...mostly decent." If only one person figured out she was a vampire that was something, right?

"That's better than some people feel at the end of their first week," Bruce said. "What kept it from being entirely decent?"
